It seems that applications are becoming a part of every thing in society. We've all heard the phrase "There's an app for that" and it is becoming more and more true with every passing day. Here is an article about 5 aps that "celebrate laziness!" Not exactly something I think we should CELEBRATE but definitely something that is kind of interesting to think about. Which of the five would you most likely incorperate into your life? How do you think the constant onset of new aps affects our society? Do you tend to stay up to date on the current aplication advances? Also, do you have any applications installed on your phone, computer, etc. that you use regularly? Finally, state one app you would like to see created and explain briefly how it would potentially work.

A new day, a new ap....here is an application that is quickly becoming mainstream. What do you think?

The five apps on the website don't seem like something I would use.I don't really use apps aside from the facebook app for my phone, one app I would like to see is a bowl app so I can eat soup from an I-pad, I think that would justify the purchase of one for me.
ReplyDeleteI would incorperate the "CrowdMug" app in my life because it would be very easy to check locations you wanted to go to. Then you could choose between crowded and less crowded locations. I think all these new apps affect society in multiple ways like more people spending more time on their phone or device, simplifing life, entertaining themselves, etc. I don't really stay that up to date on all the apps and I don't have any that I use on a regular basis. I have no idea on an app to create because I never use any.
ReplyDeleteI think the photo app is awesome because you can easily share your photos with family and friends while on a trip.
Out of the five apps, I would probably use none of them. I go to the extreme with my alarm. I just shut it off, I don't bother with snooze. I am not super interested in music, or seeing pictures of what I could be doing instead of sitting home, or the whole double date thing. They all seem really really bad. So I am just to lazy to "celebrate" laziness. Apps have really changed our society. It has made us more reliant on technology, but it also helps a lot of people with their jobs, day to day activities, etc. Most of the time I stay pretty up to date with the apps. I use Draw Something and Words with Friends everyday. Maybe a better browser, one that can use flashplayer so you can watch videos from anywhere. Not just Youtube. I dont take many pictures, and if I do I don't need a filter or to make it more dynamic by making it black and white.
ReplyDeleteThe app that I would most likly pick would be the Crowdmug app. I really would have no use for the other apps. The constant onset of new apps affects our society because people are starting to rely on their phone apps for everyday life. I do not download many apps, but if I see one that I like then I download it. I have the weather app on my phone and I usually check that every morning. At the moment I cannot think of an app that I want to see created.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would use any of the listed. It seems that every month or so a new app comes out that gets everybody raving. But when the next big app comes around people seem to just move on. I don't stay up to date with apps. I barely use any of the ones that I already have. I only really use my weather, email, and occasionally my facebook app. I think a guitar chord app that you input notes and it tells you exactly what chord it is would be a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on photography so I don't think much of it. If I took pictures it would probably be neat.
Aps are crazy these days. I cannot believe how many aps there are and for their purposes. I am a person who does not download a lot of aps on my phone, just because I am not one of those people who like to overload my phone with aps. I think the ap I would use would be the snooze button. I think that it would help me get up in the morning, and if I don't want to wake up I can donate money. I think new aps affect the society by making certain business things easier for them. I know there are several money crunching aps that will help people figure out payments. There are also aps that will help with weight loss. I think all of these aps are great because they allow for people to help out their lifestyle when they are on the go. Aps can also be a negitive thing, because so many people rely on them instead of mental math. They make people lazy. Like I said before, I do not stay up to date on my aps. I have no need for them. I am not a person who spends a ton of time searching for things on my phone. Some aps that I use regularly would be my facebook app and my Words with Friends ap. One ap that I would like to see created would be an ap that could attach to your bank account. I know big banks like bank of america do these, but I know that in Williston many people cannot stay up to date on their bank accounts so I wish it was something that all banks had. The instogram ap looked really cool. A lot of my friends liked messing around with picture settings and I am sure that it really makes things a lot more fun.
ReplyDeleteI think the snooze app is a cool idea. I am always hitting snooze and am always running late, if I had this app maybe I'd get up earlier and if I didn't at least it's for a good cause. I think apps are affecting our society in a big way, there are apps for everything. I try to stay up to date on the newest apps. The apps that I use regularly are Facebook, Netflix, ESPN, etc. An app I would like to see on my iPhone is something that could support flash. I think Instagram is a cool app, but it is not something that I would use.
ReplyDeleteI think out of those 5 apps it would be most likely i use the band of the day one. I have never downloaded an app for anything i really don't get into the whole situation. I'm not up to date with the new apps coming out or anything. I do use the facebook app. that comes installed on the phone, but that's it. I would like to see an app that does my homework.
ReplyDeleteI would use the Zombies, Run! app because I think it would fun to use while running. I think that the more apps that are created, there are a few great ones that have a big effect on society. I tend to stay up to date on current apps. I use a few apps regularly, such as games and Safari. I would like to see an app that would analyze college basketball teams to help the user with March Madness picks. It would give you predictions, stats, and keys to each game to help the user make the best pick possible. I think Instagram is cool, although I have never used it. I am amazed at 27 million users, however.
ReplyDeleteThe five apps they have on the site is kind of weird but if I had to pick one, I guess I would pick the Snooze app where it says "It's hard to get up." Which is true for me, I like to sleep and that one relates to me more than the other ones. I think apps are affecting society because their making apps for everything and its pointless to make all of these app but then again everyone's getting them so in a way its not pointless, well to me it is. No I don't stay up to date on apps I think there dumb, I don't have any and I wouldn't want to created an app.
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoyed this article, Snooze and band of the day were pretty intresting but i went and downloaded zombies run as soon as i read about it. The idea of it costing 25 cents every time i hit snooze might be enough for me to wake up, and the occasional snooze donates to charity. Band of the day more than likely would help me find some music. There is an app for everything these days. The other day i ordered from pizza hut through an app, i didnt even have to call the store. i stay fairly up to date on apps, last months big game was tiny towers and now everyone is playing drawsome or drawsomething, its like a version of charades you can play with other friends. my main apps are tumblr, facebook, twitter, instagram, pandora, spotify and ibooks. I stay fairly up to date. I would enjoy an app that combined all the social networks into one, bringing my laziness to a new level so i didnt have to go through three diffrent apps.
