  1. I do not know for sure if security for credit cards is a promising goal because almost no matter what they do for security protection someone can always find a way around it. I personally have two store credit cards and a debit card, all of which I do not use very often. Electronic forms of payment is not something that I like to do. I would rather go into a store and buy something or personally go and pay a payment so I know that it is done right.

  2. I have never really thought credit cards are a very safe way to pay. I have a debit card and I only use it for online payments and big payments. I can not believe how many people use their credit card for absolutely everything. People have experienced identity theft because of these cards. The credit card companies attempt to make them safe, when it is very difficult to do. Throughout the article, I felt bad for Global payments, but it is good that they caught it and are dealing with it in a proper way. I feel like they are handling this situation very well, even though 1 million people will be affected by it. I hope it all works out for the credit card companies. They are an easy way to pay but they are not safe.

  3. Promising security is a realistic goal but it takes every part to make the goal work. Credit card companies cannot do everything to keep everyone's information secure. That partly relies on companies like the one in the article too. Part also relies on the card holder to make sure online sites or places they are using card seem secure and legitimate. If one part of the line falls then usually everything will. I don't have any credit cards and probably won't get any until I am done with college. I think electronic payments are a good idea for the very busy life style people but they do come with risks. Your payment might not actually go through or someone could hack into it, comparable to the article. There are risks and consequences with almost anything in life so sometimes a person just has to give stuff a try and hope for the best.

  4. I think credit card security is realistic, if it wasn't these companies wouldn't be in business. I do have a credit card/debit card. I like electronic payments, things like paypal and just paying online make the buying process really painless.

  5. Promising security may be a top goal, but I don't know if it is entirely realistic. With all the genius' out there that know so much about computers and technology, I believe someone will always find a way to interfere with this. I do have a credit card and a debit card. I recently payed at a new restaurant with my card using a maching plugged into an Iphone. I was a little hesitant to do this because of issues like this. It seems so easy for people to get access to all your personal information. However, because of credit card companies policy's about not having to pay for fraudualant charges, I feel a little better about using my cards. I think it is a fast and easy way to make payments for anything.

  6. I don't think that credit or debit cards can ever be completely secure. I do think that they are getting more secure, but total security is probably unrealistic. I like electronic payments and I have a debit card that I like to use, but I do use cash if I have it for smaller purchases. I like my card for buying gas or big purchases because then I don't have to carry around a lot of cash.

  7. I do not think that it is a realistic goal, because it is so easy for a hacker to steal your card information. I personally have a debit card. I use my card all the time to buy things online, but I do worry about my card information being hacked. The only reason that I still do shop online is, because it is much more convenient and they always have the product I am looking for.

  8. I do not have a credit card, but I do have a debit card. I know that these companies can never have the super security they always promise, but they at least return the money which was stolen. I think this could be a wake up call for those people that don't carry cash, they only carry a few cards. I think that is a bit ridiculous to just have cards and no cash. Some places don't carry card processers, so then you are S.O.L. And that isn't a big deal when you are trying to get food, but if you need your vehicle fixed while on a trip you'd be in a heap of trouble. I like the whole online shopping and electronic forms of payment, it is very handy when you can't find the thing you are looking for in-stores, but I don't think people need to rely on their credit or debit cards.

  9. I think security is a relative term. If someone or some people try hard enough almost any type of security can be broken. I do not have any credit cards but I do have a debit card. I normally like to use cash when buying things but it is handy to have a debit card with an excess amount of money that you normally wouldn't carry on your person in case you need it. I recently got my debit card information hacked and had over $800 in charges that I didn't make. Luckily the charges didn't go through so I still had all of my money after the ordeal.

  10. I do think that credit card security is a realistic goal, but just like everything else there are going to be complications or someone that is going to ruin it for everybody. I have a debit/check card that I use almost ninety percent of the time when purchasing things. I use it for all of my online shopping, my itunes, and netflix account. The only draw back with the card is never knowing when something is going to have that like two dollar fee attached to it. Making payments eletronically is faster and more effiencnt.

  11. Credit card security in a sense is a realistic goal, However I don't think they can be a hundred percent secured. I have a debit card and I use it all the time for almost everything. I use it for my online shopping, paying bills, and other little purchases. I know what is at stake when I'm using my card online but I use it anyway and just hope nothing happens. However I do get nervous when I use on off brand sites because you never know what they can do.
